Marta Matas

Marta Matas, 83, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Holy Family Manor. She was born in Cuba, the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Alejandrina (Osle) E. Campos. She was the loving wife of the late Francis “Frank” Matas. In Cuba, Marta was a manicurist and participated in a dance troupe. Marta became a U.S. Citizen in 1963. She worked as a seamstress and was a member of the ILGWU. She also worked in the cleaning department of Holy Family Manor for six years. Marta was a parishioner of Holy Infancy Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir.

Marta will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Marta M. Schunk, wife of James of Kutztown; and her three grandchildren, Simone, James and Francisco. She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Matas.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E. 4th St., Bethlehem, PA 18015.
