Martin E. Hirsch

Martin E. Hirsch, 78, of Bethlehem Township, died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the St. Lukes VNA Hospice House. Born June 19, 1938 in Bethlehem he was the son of the late, Vilma (Pinter) and Martin H. Hirsch. He was married to Dolores “Lori” (Stenger) Hirsch with who he celebrated 58 years of marriage this past November 29th.

Martin worked as a Superintendent for B. Braun retiring after 36 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miller Heights where he was involved with the Prime Time Club. He was a former Fire Chief with the Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Department. Martin was also an active member of several social clubs throughout the Lehigh Valley. He was very passionate about hunting, camping and traveling all over the world with his wife. Martin was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed by all who knew him.

Martin will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lori, sons, Martin “Mark” Hirsch, Jr. and wife Deborah, Kevin Hirsch and wife Kim Ann, Christopher Hirsch and Matthew Hirsch, brother, Henry Hirsch and wife Carolyn, sister, Vilma Takacs, grandchildren, Martin C. Hirsch, Chelsea Marie Hirsch and Kevin Allen Hirsch,Jr., one great grand daughter, Katherine Ann Hirsch and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Hirsch and brother-in-law, Stephen Takacs.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Connell Funeral home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, Pa 18018 from 6-9 PM. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 1st St, Bethlehem, PA 18020 from 10-11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made in Martins name to Sacred Heart Church or to the St. Lukes VNA Hospice House 240 Union Station Plaza 1st Floor, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
