Martin L. Stein

June 4, 1936 — June 14, 2020

It is with great sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our father, Martin Luther “Marty” Stein, 84, on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. He was surrounded by his loving family. Marty was the devoted husband of the late Gloria (Yanek) Stein. They were married on December 27, 1958 and shared 53 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2012.

Born in Allentown to Raymond and Marie (Sauers) Stein on June 4, 1936. He graduated from Allentown High School in 1954 and joined the U.S. Navy in 1956, serving on the USS Belle Grove while stationed in California. For 25 years, he was a foreman at Arbogast and Bastian meatpacking plant. After a short stint at Mack Trucks, he became the traffic manager at Keystone Food products. He also enjoyed his post retirement work at Northampton Community Colleges athletic facilities. Marty was a faithful member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Roman Catholic Church. His hobbies included bowling, polka dancing at Musikfest, attending his children/grandchildren cheerleading or playing at sporting events, and trying his luck at the casino. He was involved with Northwest Little League for 35 plus years in the capacity of coach or umpire and ran the District 20 tournaments for many years. Marty was a loyal fan of the Eagles, the Phillies, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Penn State and the Liberty Hurricanes.

He was always a dedicated, loving father/grandfather to his survivors, daughter, Michelle and her husband, David Miller, son, Michael and his wife, Michelle, and his granddaughters, Rachel and Stephanie Stein.

A graveside service at Holy Savior Cemetery, Bethlehem, will be private at the convenience of the immediate family. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Martys name to Mercy School For Special Learning, 830 South Woodward St., Allentown, PA 18013.
