Mary Bolza Horwath

Mary Bolza Horwath, 91, a lifelong resident of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Blough Health Care Center in Bethlehem. She was born in Bethlehem; the daughter of the late Joseph and Rocchina (Mastropieri) Bolza. She was the loving wife of Raymond T. Horwath; they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this past August.

Mary was a 1938 graduate of Liberty High School and a graduate of Bethlehem Business School.

She worked as an Office Clerk for Bethlehem Steel in the main office. She was also the private secretary to Mrs. Laura Gross. Mary was a parishioner of University Parish of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Bethlehem.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Raymond, sons, David Horwath and his wife, Susan of San Antonio, TX, Dr. Michael Horwath and his wife, Dr. Ellen Kessler of Fairfax, VA, daughter, Neva Rae Fox and her husband, Bob of Somerville, NJ, her sister, Julia Bensen of Bethlehem, PA, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Celeste Check and her brother, Michael Bolza.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at University Parish of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 417 Carlton Ave. Bethlehem. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem.

Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice, Development Office, 801 Ostrum St., Bethlehem, PA 18015.
