Mary F. (Horvath) Lancsek, 92, of Bethlehem died Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. Born July 19, 1921 in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Dravecz) Horvath. Mary was married to the late Stephen Lancsek who passed away in December 1985.
Mary was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Bethlehem and the Senior Busy Bees. She was also a member of the First Windish Fraternal Benefit Society and the Ladies Garment Union. Mary was known for Marys Stars, which were very popular at the Sun Inn and the Moravian Book Shop. Mary was a talented woman, who was dearly loved by all that knew her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, James Lancsek and wife Kathleen of Lower Macungie Township and Thomas Lancsek and wife Arlene of Trenton, NJ, sister, Helen Thoma of Palm harbor, FL, grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael, Tim and Mark,four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Geza Horvath and Wife Betty and brother in law, John Thoma.
A viewing will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 10:30-11:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church at 12:00 PM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Marys name to the American Heart Association 212 East Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
