Mary Frances Stackewich

Mary Frances Stackewich, 71, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Holy Family Manor. She was born September 22, 1942 in Bethlehem, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Mihala) Kerecz. She was the loving wife of the late Richard H. Stackewich who passed away in 1976.

Mary worked for Burger King for over 20 years in Bethlehem. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem Twp., where she volunteered much of her time and was active with the Fellowship Group, the Ladies Group, the Retreat Team and the Carnival. Mary also volunteered as a Librarian at Sacred Heart School in Miller Heights. She was a fan of the Freedom High School Marching Band. Mary was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and sister, who will be missed by all that knew her.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Joseph Stackewich and wife, Lori, of Slatington; daughters, Donna Russo and husband, John, of Bethlehem; Cynthia Stackewich of Easton; and Carol Stackewich of Bethlehem; sister, Barbara Brett and husband, Gene, of Hellertown; sister-in-law, Lorraine Snyder and husband, Joseph, of Glen Carbon, Il; grandchildren, great- grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Kerecz.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.
