Mary Glancy, 73, of Nazareth passed away at home on Friday, June 3, 2011 from cancer.
Born in Bath, Mary was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen Klusko Temos. She graduated from Northampton Area High School and Sacred Heart School of Nursing. Mary is survived by her husband, James Glancy, with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage on January 16, 2011.
Mary worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown following her graduation in 1958. Mary was dedicated to caring for the elderly and focused the majority of her nursing career in geriatrics working for the County of Northampton and Gracedale Nursing Home, until her retirement in 1999. Mary was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She enjoyed music, dancing, and singing with her church choir. Mary and her husband Jim were avid travelers visiting many countries including memorable trips to China, Ireland, Mexico, and Prague. Mary devoted her life to the Lord Jesus Christ and found great comfort, joy, and friendship through prayer and worship with the members of her bible study groups.
Mary is survived by four children, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild; Colleen, wife of Steven Chiyka, parents of Elizabeth, Macungie; Aileen, wife of Robert Evans, parents of Michael and Meagan, Lancaster; James, husband of Melissa Hawkins Glancy, parents of Nathan and Eli, grandparents of Abram, Kentucky; and Kathleen, wife of Adam Klug, parents of Nina and Flynn, Connecticut. She is survived by sisters; Patricia, wife of John Repasch, Loraine, wife of John Fish; and Susan, wife of Norman Getz; Rose Marie Kimak; brother-in-law, William Glancy, husband of the late Gloria Glancy; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Rosemary Glancy Albertson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 7th at 11 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 210 E. Northampton St., Bath, PA. A calling period will be held in the church from 10-11 AM. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home.
