Mary J. Mcgee

Mary J. McGee, 80, of Northampton, PA, died peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Saint Joseph, MO, the daughter of the late Marvin F. Schubert, Sr. and LeVeta Lola (Neff) Schubert Mackowiak. She was the loving wife to Peter McGee, they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this past October. Mary graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School in 1953. She taught and choreographed dance across the U.S. and Canada. She was a parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who cherished every minute spent with her family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Peter; daughter, Michele (Micki) Lerch, of Nazareth; four sons, Peter McGee, Jr. of High Point, NC; Kevin M. McGee and wife, Michelle, of Palmerton; Lawrence P. McGee and wife, Susan, of York; William B. McGee and wife, Patricia of Northampton; brothers, Marvin F. Schubert, Sr. and wife, Jean, of Charlotte, NC; Charles Schubert and wife, Connie, of Bethlehem; and James D. Schubert and wife, Nancy, of Dover; grandchildren, Jason M. Lerch and wife, Megan of Nazareth; Alison K. Lerch of Nazareth; Eric M. McGee and wife, Tathiana of Allentown; Tawny Poleschuk, L. Patrick McGee Jr., Magdelena R. McGee, Ava R. McGee, William M. McGee and Benjamin J. McGee; and her seven great-grandchildren, Emily K. Filchner, Jared M. Filchner, Piper A. Lerch, Quade H. Lerch, Dax R. Lerch, Colin Pauley and Alexa Pauley. She was preceded in death by three infant children, her granddaughter, Caitlyn E. McGee and her sister, Betty Jean Kenney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem. Viewings will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem on Sunday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Monday, from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Burial will follow the mass at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
