Mary Jane Delay Kammetler

Mary Jane DeLay Kammetler, 86, of Bethlehem, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Cedar Brook Nursing Home in Fountain Hill. She was born in Tamaqua, PA; daughter of the late William S. and Ida Mae (Brachman) DeLay. She was the devoted wife of 60 years to the late Robert A. Kammetler, Sr. before his death last October 16th.

Mary Jane was a graduate of St. Jerome Catholic High School. She worked as a hairdresser prior to raising her family and later served as the receptionist at the front desk of the YWCA for 18 years. She was a parishioner of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kathleen Britton of Allentown; Robert Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, Susan Speicher and her husband, Jeffrey, Sally Kammetler; and William and his wife, Maria, all of Bethlehem; six grandchildren, Lauren, Brenden, James, Nicole, wife of Paul, Jenna and Julia; sisters-in-law, Beverly DeLay; Marie DeLay; Betty Kammetler and Frances Kammetler. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Margaret, William, Jack, Frederick, Edward, Joseph and Robert.

Services: Praying of the Holy Rosary will be led by family on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. followed by vigil prayers at 5:45 p.m. and a visitation from 6-8 p.m. all at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Another visitation will be held on Saturday from 8:30-9:30 a.m in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 730 W. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Interment will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Memorial Contributions may be made to Cedar Brook Nursing Home, c/o Station 5, 724 Delaware Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18015.
