Mary Jane Kaufman

Mary Jane Kaufman, 91, of Bethlehem, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015. She was born May 22, 1923 in Hazleton, PA, Luzerne County. Jane was the daughter of the late Earl and Marguerite (Deach) Shaffer. Jane was the wife of August T. Kaufman. In September, they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. She will be remembered for her kind and loving spirit; her perpetual selflessness and her heart of gold. After graduating from Hazleton High School, she was employed by the Bell Telephone Company; retiring in 1951. Jane was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.

In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by her daughter, Mary Janice Kaufman of Delray Beach, FL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Shaffer; and her sisters, Bette Devers and Nelda Ferry.

Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
