Mary Kesperis

Mary A. Kesperis, 83, of Inman, Kansas formerly of Bethlehem, Pa. and Oakhurst, New Jersey died January 8, 2009 at her daughter's home in rural Inman, Kansas. She was born on June 20, 1925 in Bethlehem, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Henry E. and Mary Schoenen Loux. She was the wife of the late James S. Kesperis who died in 1998.

Mary was a retired secretary for Ocean Township Board of Education and also a member of the First United Methodist Church and its choir in Oakhurst, New Jersey. She attended the Park Place Christian Church in Hutchinson, Kansas, and a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Bethlehem, Pa. She was also a member of the New Jersey Educators Association. and a 1943 graduate of Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pa.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Robert L. Smith and wife Sally of Eatontown, New Jersey, daughter, Stephanie Kesperis-Guthrie and husband Keith of Inman, Kansas, grandson Christopher Smith, and God daughter, Cheryl Holbert Gonzales of Bethlehem..

She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Robert and Theodore Loux.

Services will be held 11AM Friday January 16, 2009 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church 1607 W. Union Blvd. Bethlehem, Pa. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening from 7-9PM, at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. and Friday morning from 10-11AM in the church. Trisagon service 8PM Thursday evening.
