Mary L. Hengstenberger

Mary L. DeAngelis Hengstenberger, 85, formerly of Bethlehem, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Gracedale in Nazareth.

Born January 29, 1922 in Mingo Junction, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Rosa Martellucci and Frank DeAngelis.

Mary was married to the late John J. Hengstenberger.

Mary was a dedicated mother and wife who always put her family first. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Throughout the years she helped raise 78 foster children with the Catholic Social Agency. Mary was also a member of the Little Helpers of Good.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her sons; John Hengstenberger and wife Susie of Bethlehem, Richard Hengstenberger of Bethlehem, Joel Hengstenberger of Ohio, daughters; Jean wife of Richard Walker of Bethlehem, Jayne wife of Elmer Smith of Bethlehem, Mary Strunk of Bethlehem, brothers; Michael Petrella, Thomas DeAngelis, Peter DeAngelis, Paul DeAngelis, Ernest DeAngelis, Angelo DeAngelis, sisters; Helen DeAngelis and Marguerite Spadaccia. She will also be remembered by eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Joan Hengstenberger and her sisters Margaret Salminen and Amelia Horninger.

SERVICES

A viewing will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, Thursday October 4, 2007 from 9-11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
