Mary L. Mayer

Mary Leonore Mayer, 86 of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, departed this life on the 24th of November, 2008, joining Ed, her husband of 52 years, and her Lord in Heaven. Born in Campbell, Ohio, she was the daughter of Joseph "Tata" and Anna "Baba" Kohut. She was preceded in death by her eight siblings. She was the first in her family to graduate from high school. She was also a graduate of Norfolk Nursing School and worked as a LPN. She was a graduate of Northampton Community College with a degree in psychology. She was an active member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church for over fifty years and was a member of the Grief Committee and 55+ Club. She was a longstanding member of the Bethlehem Garden Club, winning numerous awards for her floral arrangements. She volunteered at Muhlenberg Hospital and the Sun Inn.

She is survived by her two children, son, Bruce and his wife Marlene of Vinton, Virginia, and daughter, Linda Mayer of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, three grandchildren, Julie McGeorge and husband Carrick, Amanda Mayer and Brandon Mayer.
