Mary M. Rogan

The Lord Jesus Christ called Mary M. Rogan home on his blessed birthday. She passed away at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem following a long battle with diabetes and heart related issues. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Kocis Vasko. She was the loving wife of Frederick G. Rogan for more than 44 years. Mary was a member of the Church of the Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Colesville. She would have been 90 years old on January 4th.

She is survived by daughters Mary Lea Stastny and husband Stephen of Red Hill; Patricia Ann Eckman wife of Wayne D. of Center Valley, sister Anna Pelizoto of Bethlehem, brothers George Vasko of Allentown and Joseph Vasko of Bethlehem. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Lambert and brothers, John and Stephen Vasko. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephen Stastny of Savannah, GA, Michael Eckman of Center Valley, Melissa Eckman Meyer of Maxatawny, great-grandchildren, Richard, Nicholas, Amber, Chase, and Suki.

Mary was a long-time resident of Friedensville. She worked at Sure Fit, Inc. in Bethlehem for 26 years before retiring in 1980. Prior to working at Sure Fit, Mary worked at Bethlehem Steel during World War II.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 6-8 PM. Another viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Church of the Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike Bethlehem, PA 18015 from 12-1 PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to the church.
