Mary R. Mcmurtrie

Mary R. Huyter McMurtrie, 96, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, November 7, 2013. She was born August 25, 1917 in Bethlehem; daughter of the late Carmen and Concetta (DeCrosta) Sciarra. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Kalman P. Huyter in 1994 and later married Calvin L. McMurtrie who passed in 2005.

Mary worked as a seamstress for local factories and was a dedicated mother to her children; Shirley, wife of Gus Heidecker of Bethlehem; Linda Giasullo and her husband Frank of Bangor; Richard J. Huyter and his wife, Sheri of Riegelsville; Mary Ann Mathioudis of Bethlehem and Gloria, wife of Lloyd Sacknoff of Nazareth. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at The Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 8:30-9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am on Monday at St. Annes Catholic Church 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Animal Health and Welfare 1165 Island Park Rd. Easton, PA 18042.
