Mary Theresa Reisteter

Mary Theresa Reisteter, 97, of Bethlehem, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024 at Arden Courts, Allentown. She was the wife of the late George Francis Reisteter who died December 9, 2018. Mary was born in Plymouth, PA on September 7, 1927 to the late John J. and Mary E. (Mock) Mital. Her first job was as a bookkeeper for the famous dress company, Leslie Fay. She then met her husband George in Atlantic City in 1950 on a girls' trip with her friends from Plymouth.

She then worked for the former Union Bank and Trust Company, Bethlehem. Mary worked for many years in sales for M&M Mars candy, known as "Mary, from Mars." She loved the job and especially the "Mary, from Mars" joke. Mary was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church and served as Eucharistic Minister, attended daily Mass, and procured and distributed the Oplatki (Christmas wafers) for several years. She was an avid reader, loved family reunions and was a Cub Scout leader for many years. The family wishes to extend its thanks and appreciation to Mary's caregivers at Holisticare, Arden Courts of Allentown, and Sacred Heart Senior Living, Center Valley.

Survivors: sons: Jim (Barbara) Reisteter of Polson, MT, Joel Reisteter of Bethlehem, Dan (Lisa) Reisteter of Mechanicsburg, Dave (Tiffany) Reisteter of Boone, NC; grandchildren: Joel, Matthew, Elizabeth, Jack & Jenna. Predeceased by her siblings: Joseph Mital, John Mital, Geraldine "Gerry" Niemenski.

Services: Friends and family are invited to her viewing, 10-11am Monday, October 7, 2024 at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem followed by a Mass of Chirstian Burial at 11am. The interment will conclude at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Online condolences may be offered at www.connellfuneral.com
