Mary S. Oroskey

March 31, 1917 — December 23, 2012

Mary Dugas Oroskey, 95, of Bethlehem passed away on Sunday December 23, 2012 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. She was born in Bethlehem, daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Ulincy) Dugas. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Oroskey, Sr., who passed away in 1968. For over 20 years Mary resided at the Moravian House I 737 Main St. Bethlehem, Pa. before taking up residence at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem.

Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother who worked as a housemother for Dravo House & Lamda Chi Alpha fraternities at Lehigh University. Most of her career was spent being a waitress for Saucon Valley Country Club, Hotel Bethlehem, The Bethlehem Club, and the Bethlehem Steel Corporation cafeteria. She was a life long member of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish in Bethlehem, a member of First Ladies Catholic Slovak Association, Legion of Mary Society. Mary volunteered for many years at Holy Family Manor, a member of their Ladies Auxiliary and the Senior Citizens Center of Bethlehem, where she was a life member.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Joseph F. Oroskey, wife Carol (Malone) of Bethlehem, grandchildren, Theresa (Terri) Scholl of Bethlehem, and Joseph T. Oroskey and his wife Mary Ellen (Golden) of Whitehall, great grandsons, Steven Scholl, Joseph and Patrick Oroskey, great great grandson, Caiden, sisters, Elizabeth Dugas, and Frances Keating both of Bethlehem and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, John, Joseph and Stephen Dugas, and sisters, Theresa Dugas, Margaret Delluva, and Helen Gal.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:30pm Thursday December 27, 2012 at St. Ann's Chapel of Holy Family Manor 1200 Spring St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. Family and friends may pay respect at the Chapel from 11:30am-12:30pm. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Holy Family Manor Resident Fund 1200 Spring St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018, acknowledging the caring and responsive care they provided Mary for the past four years.
