Mary Susa

Mary Susa, 97, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. She was born January 2, 1918; daughter of the late Joseph and Vilma (Subul) Kuzma. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Hassay in 1958 and her husband, Paul Susa in 1965. Mary was a very dedicated and hard worker, walking to and from the south side of Bethlehem every day, when possible, to SureFit where she was a fringe operator for 23 years. She also worked part-time as a waitress for Roosevelt Bar and Smugglers Inn. Mary was a member of St. Johns Windish Lutheran Church.

Mary will be dearly missed by her son, Robert S. Hassay, Sr.,husband of Mary of Bethlehem; her daughter-in-law, Anna Marie Hassay of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Robert Hassay, Jr. and his wife, Linda; Laurie Ann Hassay; Louis Hassay, Jr. and his wife, Angela; Andrew Hassay and his wife, Sue; and Colleen Rekai and her husband, Mark; niece, Carol Dean Henn; great grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Linsey, Kelsey, and Jalen and two great-great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her son, Louis R. Hassay, Sr.; and her sister, Irene C. Henn.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Another visitation will be held Wednesday from 9- 10 a.m. at St. Johns Windish Lutheran Church, 617 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015 followed by a service at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at Fountain Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
