Maryellen Golden Oroskey

Maryellen Golden Oroskey, 59, died peacefully after a long illness on Jan. 2, 2021 at her home in Egypt, Pa. She was happily married to Joseph T. Oroskey for 33 years.

Born in Bethlehem, Pa. to Edward and Mary Golden (nee McCloskey), she was a 1979 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School. Maryellen loved children and for many years served as a dedicated teacher and activity aid for the Whitehall School District and most recently was an administrative assistant for the school nurse.

In addition to her husband, she will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Joseph Edward and his wife Keri of Whitehall, Pa., and Patrick Thomas and his wife Ashley of Schnecksville, Pa; two grandchildren, Nolan and Kinsley Jo; three brothers, Thomas Golden (Tara) of New Tripoli, Pa.; John Golden of Royersford, Pa., and Edward Golden of Philadelphia; nieces Teal Hensel (Devon) of Dillsburg, Pa; Tori Golden of Boca Raton, Fla. and two nephews, Teagen Golden of New Triploli and Stephen Scholl of Bethlehem, Pa.

She was a great friend to many and always loved to spend time at the beach and the mountains with her family and friends.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A viewing will also be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 9-10 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Occupancy in the funeral home will be limited and masks will be required to be worn by all guest.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to start a scholarship fund for Nolan and Kinsley Jo.
