Matthew Keith Clemens

Matthew Keith Clemens, 44, of Salisbury Township, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 26 at St. Lukes University Health Network. He was the loving husband of Marie (Ford) Clemens for the past 15 years.

Born in Sellersville, PA, Matt attended Palisades and Allentown Central Catholic High School, before graduating from Phelps Academy. He was a member of the wrestling team, placing 5th in statewide competition. A graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute, he was a certified forklift operator.

Matt was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports, and particular, the Philadelphia Flyers. He was also an avid motor racing fan, who enjoyed attending and participating in races throughout Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and abroad. One glance at his Facebook page and throughout the hundreds of comments, the same words appear over and over: “always smiling”, “a great laugh”, “a hard worker” and “always right there to help.”

In addition to his wife, Marie, Matt will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Carol Clemens of Coopersburg; father, Jon Clemens of Center Valley; brother Christopher Clemens, wife Eva and niece Claire of Waverly, NY; sister Melissa Kratzer and husband Ron of Allentown; mother-in-law Mary Ford of Bethlehem; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, as well as his beloved dog, Norton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Newt and Nelda Clemens, Dorothea & Ralph Mollenhauer and Edward Arnold; uncle Pat Arnold, and cousin, Nate Clemens.

The family will receive friends at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 2-5 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015 with a service to immediately follow at 5 p.m.
