Matthew Michael Morganello, 84, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital.
He was born September 30, 1926 in Bethlehem; the son of the late Joseph and Nellie Petrucella Morganello.
Matthew is survived by his devoted wife of over 60 years, Mary Morano Morganello.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean War.
He was a graduate of Bethlehem Vo-Tech; worked for the Bethlehem Foundry and later retired from Ingersoll-Rand where he served as a Radiographer.
Matthew was previously a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii of the Most Holy Rosary, where he was an active member of the Holy Name Society. He was currently a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary; son, Matthew Francis Morganello and daughter Carla Morganello Ross; sister-in-law, Isabelle Morano Service and several nieces and nephews.
Matthew was also preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred "Freddy", James, Joseph, Jr. and his sister Delores Morganello Morganelli.
A viewing will be held from 9-10 AM on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem immediately followed by a funeral service at 10 AM.
Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
