Maurice F. Sass

Maurice “Maury” F. Sass, 87, of Coopersburg, PA died Sunday, July 20, 2014 in his home. Born September 12, 1926 in Fountain Hill he was the son of the late Maurice J. and Johannah (Flynn) Sass. He was married to Dorothy C. (Rodgers) Sass for 55 years until her passing on April 13, 2007.

Maurice proudly served his country during WWII by enlisting in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17. Serving on a Mine sweeper in the Pacific he was one of the “Iron Men in Wooden Boats.” After the Navy he worked for Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of the Assumption B.V.M. Church. One of Maurices favorite passtime was spending time at Promised Land in his trailer with his family.

Maurice will be lovingly remembered by his son, Maurice “Bud” Sass and husband David Culp of Park City, UT, daughter, Patricia Ann and husband Sherman L. Perry, Jr. of Kennebunk, ME and a grandson, Sherman L. Perry, III.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11 AM at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home.

The family would also like to express their gratitude to Jo Lyn, Charlotte and all of Maurys recent caregivers.
