Michael R. Baron, 94, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, May 31, 2013. He was born in Bethlehem; son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Bartos) Baron. Michael was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Demko) Baron who passed away in 1980 and also Kathryn (Goida) Baron who passed away in 2010.
Michael dedicated his early life to the US Army for five years. He served as part of the infantry in the South Pacific, where he was a Prisoner of War for 3 years. He was a member of American Defenders of the Bataan and Corregidor Club; Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He retired in 1979 from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation after 33 years of service. He was a member of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, Bethlehem.
Michael will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many cousins. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, John, Joseph, Andrew, Francis, Stephen, Charles and William Baron and his sisters, Anna Pribulka, Sophie Kresge and Agnes Lipsky.
A viewing will be held be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 from 9:30-10:30 AM at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM on Monday at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
