Michael E. Gassler

Michael E. Gassler, 76, of Bethlehem died, Wednesday October 19, 2022 at the St. Lukes VNA Hospice House in Lower Saucon Township. Born in Northampton he was the son of the late Frank J. Gassler, Sr. and Hermina J. (Gollar) Gassler. He was married to Marjorie Ann (Hunt) Gassler for 42 years until her death on March 30, 2005.

Michael worked as a carpenter and later went on to be an accountant for the Carpenters Union Local 600 in Bethlehem. He was also a 33rd degree Free Mason. Michael was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf, and cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles. Prior to his wifes passing they used to enjoy taking their family, especially their grandchildren, camping at the Native American Pow Wows.

Michael will be lovingly remembered by his son, Robert Gassler, daughter, Mary Ann Bennett wife of Dave, brothers, Rev. Frank Gassler, JR. and wife, Ruth and Thomas Gassler and companion, Ann, sister, Mary Ann C. Reiter wife of Kenneth, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Gassler.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. A calling hour will be held on Monday, October 24th at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church 730 W. Broad St., Bethlehem from 10-11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
