Michael G. Thear

Michael G Thear, 63 , of Bethlehem Township, PA

died on Friday, September 28, 2007 at Easton Hospital E.R. after being stricken at the Lehigh Valley Amateur, at Green Pond Golf Club.

Michael was born in Allentown and was the son of the late Stephen and Verna Kurash Thear. Mike is the husband of Many Ann Yackanicz Thear who celebrated his 36th anniversary with on May 15.

Mike worked as a estimator for the former Bethlehem Steel Co in the # 2 Machine shop retiring in 1997 after 33 of years service. Mike was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School in 1961 and a graduate of Thaddeus Stevens Technical School in 1964.

Mike was an avid golfer and bowler. He bowled in the Lehigh Valley Clubman?s, Bi State Bowling and The former Fellowship League at the former Bethlehem Steel Club and was inducted into the Bethlehem Area Bowlers Association Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Grasshoppers , By Pass and Nazareth Golf Leagues.

Michael was a member of the Order of Fleas in Easton, the Heights A.A., National Sokols, and Jefferson Democratic Clubs.



Michael will be lovingly remembered by his wife-Mary Ann Thear of Bethlehem Township, his sons-Michael S Thear and wife Lauren of Freedom, Pa.and Robert C Thear of Bethlehem, and Brother-Joseph R Thear and wife Louise of Jim Thorpe, Pa and two neices and one nephew..

He is predeceased by his parents.

A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Connell Funeral Home 245 East Broad Street followed by Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at 11:00 AM at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of the Byzantine Rite 1140 Johnston Dr. Bethlehem.

Visitation will be at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
