Michael H. Wildgen

Michael H. Wildgen, 71, of Del Haven, NJ, formerly Lower Nazareth, PA passed away on Sunday, February 2 with his family at his side. He was born in Allentown, PA and was predeceased by his parents Henry Wildgen and Helen Voytko both Bethlehem, PA.

He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as an EN2, and after honorable discharge was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 32 years. After leaving Bethlehem Steel he was employed by AJ Trunzo Inc. in Bath, PA. After retiring he achieved his dream of moving down to the Jersey Shore where he spent many happy summers with his family in Wildwood, NJ. He was a member of the Lehigh South Side Boosters for 36 years and lived for Lehigh Football. He was also a member of the Villas Fishing Club in Villas, NJ.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia (Woomer) Wildgen, his son Michael of Nazareth, PA, daughter Michelle and Husband Jim Bittenbender of Germansville, PA, daughter Cindy Wildgen of Allentown, PA and his beloved dog Nellie. He is also survived by his grandsons Shaun and Austin Bittenbender and granddaughter Riley Sadel. He was predeceased by his daughter Melissa in 1979.

Visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E Broad St., Bethlehem, PA, on Wednesday Feb 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. An 11 a.m. funeral service will follow, in the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the American Cancer Society.
