Michael J. Sopko

Michael J. Sopko, Jr., 74, of Bethlehem, PA, died Thursday, May 21, 2015. He was born in Bethlehem, the son of the late, Michael J. Sopko, Sr. and Isabel (Reagan) Sopko. He was the loving husband to Dorothy (Danko) Sopko. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary this past February.

Michael worked for the City of Bethlehem for over 40 years. He served his country as a U.S. Marine with the 2nd Recon Division in South East Asia. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going to the beach.

Michael will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dorothy; children, Robert Sopko and wife, Tina of Emmaus; Michael Sopko, III of Bethlehem; Sharon, wife of Stephen Bloss of Bel Air, MD; and Scott Sopko and wife, Sandra of Orwigsburg; sisters, Elizabeth Ann Fody and Kathleen Donchez; and his grandchildren, Alyssa, Brendan, Jacob, Julie, Emily and Sean. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Sopko.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St., Bethlehem, PA 18015. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem. Interment will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
