Michael S. Doncevic, Sr.

July 21, 1926 — November 23, 2006

Michael S. Doncevic, Sr., 80 , of Hellertown, PA died on Thursday, November 23, 2006 at Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem.

Born July 21, 1926 in Steelton, PA, he was the son of the late Misko & Milka Cuzic Doncevic.

His wife of 55 years, Ann Mayrides Doncevic, died November 20, 2005.

Michael was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Hellertown, the Hellertown American Legion Edward H. Ackerman Post 397 and the Dewey Fire Company.



Mr. Doncevic proudly and honorably served his country. He entered the Army in 1944 and served at Headquarters Company, Yokohama Base in Japan during WWII. He later served in the Korean Conflict , being dischared as a Seargent, First Class in 1952. He was awarded the Army Occupation Medal Japan, the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the World War II Victory Ribbon.

In the 1950's Michael was employed as a salesman and as a truck driver for the Frank Banko Beverage Co. From 1962 ? 1972 he owned and operated the former Michael's Tavern on Linden St. in Bethlehem. He also worked for the Bethlehem Area School District, retiring in the late 1980's as the Head Custodian.

Daughter-Dorene Svanda of Bethlehem.

Son-Michael S. Doncevic, Jr. and his wife Emma Jean

Brother-Stephen A. Doncevic of Hellertown.

Granddaughters-Lee-Ann Doncevic & Jacqueline Arthur

Great - Grandchildren-Aubrey Arthur & Jon-Michael Holland

Brother-in-law-Maurice Mayrides of Lititz, Pa. and several Nieces & Nephews.

SERVICES

Visitation will be at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem on Sunday, November 26, 2006 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Services will begin at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, November 27, 2006 at 8:45 AM and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 1408 Easton Rd., Hellertown at 9:30 AM.

Interment with full military honors will follow at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
