Michael Stafiniak

Michael Stafiniak, 81, of Bethlehem; died on Monday, October 22, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill. He was born in Coaldale; the son of the late Herasim and Eva (Chocholak) Stafiniak. He was the loving husband of Dorothy E. (Uzick) Stafiniak. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on October 15th.

Michael worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation as an Electrical Mechanical Engineer for 41 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion in Coaldale; the Russian Club and the Coaldale Volunteer Fire Department.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Michele Stafiniak and her fianc, Russell Gianforcaro of Broomall; sons, Joseph Stafiniak and his wife, Emma, of Media; Stephen Stafiniak and his wife, Jennifer, of Easton; brother, Simon Stafiniak and his wife, Martha; sister, Helen Sheers and her husband, Paul; and his three grandchildren, Eva, Andie and Tye.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ann Slanta and John and Steve Stafiniak.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 980 Bridle Path Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18017. Parastas will be held Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. in the church. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9-10 a.m. both in the church. Burial will be at Sky-View Memorial Park Tamaqua (Hometown)
