Miguel A. Gonzalez

Miguel “Mickey” A. Gonzalez, 62, of Bethlehem passed away on Friday October 10, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 19, 1952 in Lares, Puerto Rico, son of the late Leboria Gonzalez and Paulina Garcia of Allentown. He was the husband of Sonja A. (Wrecsics) Gonzalez. They met when she locked her keys in her car and Mickey helped her. They would have celebrated 40 years of marriage on October 26th. Mickey was owner and operator of Mike The Handyman. He often did work for those that could not pay and came home with chickens or love birds, and always helped the elderly and sick. Mickey also worked for the Bethlehem City Redevelopment Program and was a member of the Central Assembly of God. He was a perfectionist, enjoyed going to Aruba, and loved to crack jokes. He was a naturally talented artist and woodworker who taught at the Boys Club, and was involved with the Boy Scouts. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sonja, mother Paulina, daughter, Angela Gonzalez of Bethlehem, brothers, Angel “Louie” Gonzalez of Allentown, and Rueben Gonzalez of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., sisters, Gloria Gonzalez Scharadin of Bethlehem, Lydia Gonzalez and Lucy Dahl both of Allentown, and grandchildren Damian Bermudez, and Jaide Bermudez.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday October 15, 2014 from 6-8pm at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. Services will be held at 8pm.
