Mildred E. Spangenberg

Mildred E. Grube Spangenberg, 97, formerly of Bethlehem died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Gracedale in Nazareth, PA.

Mildred was born in Bethlehem and was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Gaugler Grube and the widow of Carl J. Spangenberg who died in November of 1976.



Mildred was a member of Bethany UCC, 600 West Market Street, Bethlehem. She was a charter member of the Monocacy Ladies Association from 1947 to 1997. Also Mildred was an active member of the Higbee Playground Association for many years.

Mildred will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Carl J. Spangenberg and his wife Joanne of Leesburg, FL, George D. Spangenberg and his wife Shirley of Englewood, FL and daughter Barbara Jane Zakszeski and her husband Edward of Port Orange, FL, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Mildred is predeceased by her parents, four brothers Harold, Joseph, Woodrow and Wilbur Grube, three sisters Dorothy Quier, Catherine Yost and Caroline Shambor and a grandson David Spangenberg.

Friends may call on Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 AM.

Burial following service at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
