Mildred M. Girard

Mildred M. "Millie" Girard, 73, of Bethlehem Twp., died Monday, December 24, 2007 at St. Lukes Hospital in Fountain Hill. She was born September 20, 1934 in Coaldale, PA, the daughter of the late Kenneth D. and Catherine Boyle Bitler.

She was the wife of Richard A. Girard; they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this past August 23rd. Millie worked as a keypunch operator for Bethlehem Steel, Pentamation & AD Computer before retiring in 1987. She was an avid reader. "Books were her friends". Her family believed that if she ever had the chance to go on

"Who Wants To Be A Millionaire", she would have won because of her knowledge from reading. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, son, Philip D. Girard & his wife Lisa of Bethlehem Twp.; daughter, Amy G., wife of Jonathan Black of Bethlehem; brothers, Kenneth J. Bitler & his wife Marcella of Avon Park, Fl;

Donald F. Bitler & his wife Karen of Lewes, DE and Naples, FL; Robert R. Bitler & his wife Bridget of Emmaus; sisters, Marianne Bitler of Bethlehem; Karen Jones of Tucson, AZ; and her four grandchildren, Bryn & Griffin Girard & Aaron & Rachel Black.

Services: Visitation will be at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, December 29, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Service will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 10:00 AM Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park, in Bethlehem, PA
