Nellie B. Kwiatek

Nellie B. (Lutynski) Kwiatek, 92, died June 17, 2014 with her family by her side. Born May 1, 1922 in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Aniela (Drewniak) and Joseph Lutynski and a step father, Frank Banas. She was married to Sigmund F. Kwiatek for 60 years until his death on April 29, 2002.

Nellie worked for the former Chickadee sportswear in Bethlehem. She was a former member of St. Stanislaus Church in Bethlehem where she sang in the choir, volunteered with the Ladies of Charity and making pierogies. She was currently a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Nellie loved taking care of her home and could always be found outside shoveling snow, racking leaves or sweeping the grass clippings. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished every moment she had with her family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Frank Kwiatek and wife Carolyn of Hanover Township, brother, Joseph Lutynski and wife Anna of Freeland, PA, step brother, Stanley Banas of Lakewood, NJ, grandchildren, Scott Kwiatek and Lisa Webb-Rape and six great grandchildren, Emily, Josh, Jake, Evelyn, Aleksander and Ariana. Nellie was preceded in death by her brother, John Lutinsky and sister, Mary Mastrini.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Notre Dame Catholic Church 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018 at 11 AM with a calling hour from 10-11 AM in the church. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Nellies name to Notre Dame Catholic Church.
