Norbert Francis Cadden

October 24, 1922 — November 8, 2007

Norbert Francis Cadden, 85 of Allentown and formerly of Bethlehem, died November 8 in the Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke?s, Lower Saucon.

Born October 24, 1922 in Mauch Chunk, he was the husband of 61 years to Beatrice Otto Cadden.

A graduate of Mauch Chunk High School and Muskingum College, he was a distinguished PIAA basketball and football official for thirty years at the scholastic and collegiate level. He is a member of three halls of fame; Pennsylvania, Delaware County Chapter, Carbon County Chapter and the Jim Thorpe County received for his excellence in officiating.

For 30 years, Norb worked for General Accident Insurance Co., Philadelphia branch while residing in Havertown, PA., as a claims supervisor. He was a WWII veteran of the 243rd Engineer Combat Battalion serving from 1943 to 1946 in Germany. He was an active member of the Elks Club in Bethlehem. He was also a member of St. Anne?s Church, in Bethlehem, where he served as an usher for 20 years.

Devoted and Loyal to his family ? He will be missed!

Survivors: Wife, daughters, Noreen Kessler wife of Fred Kessler, Carolyn Kearney wife of James Kearney. He had 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Services: Calling hours. 9 ? 10:30AM Monday, November 19th at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA.

Mass: 11:00AM at St. Anne?s Church, 450 E. Washington Ave., Bethlehem, PA. Interment to follow at St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Jim Thorpe, PA.
