Norman John Schoenberger, Jr.

December 21, 1925 — June 8, 2011

Norman John Schoenberger, Jr. 85, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at L.V Hospital-Muhlenberg.

He was born on December 21, 1925; the son of the late Norman and Mabel Walk Schoenberger.

Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Gyecsek Schoenberger in 1994.

Norman proudly served in the US Navy during WWII as a Radio Operator aboard the USS Douglas L. Howard.

He worked in Construction and for PP & L prior to retiring from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. where he served as a Beam Yard Supervisor. He also owned and operated a T.V/ radio repair shop, a portrait photography studio and Norm's Fish-O-Rama Pet Shop.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Bruce J. and his wife Joan of Milwaukee, WI; Barry E. and his wife Mary of Northampton; Roger L. of Bethlehem; Diane M. Miller and her husband David of Whitehall and Mark A. and his wife Lynn of Schnecksville; his 10 grandchildren and one great grandson. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Souders of Stroudsburg and a brother, Leslie Schoenberger of Allentown. He will also be dearly missed by his 3 dogs.

Norman was a member of the Hellertown American Legion. His hobbies included rollerskating, cb radios and creating birthday and Christmas cards.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 7-9 PM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem and again on Saturday from 9-10 AM at the funeral home with a service to immediately follow.

Interment will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
