Paul J. Kacsur, Jr.

March 26, 1939 — January 30, 2012

Paul J. Kacsur, Jr., 72, of Bethlehem, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at the Lehigh Valley Hospital - 17th St. Hospice Care Center in Allentown. Paul was the loving husband of Mary Jane Lucas Kacsur and son of the late Paul and Stella Heigl Kacsur of Coopersburg. He attended Central Catholic High School and graduated from Villanova University in 1961. Specializing in Serbo-Croatian linguistics he completed Army Foreign Language School at the Presidio of Monterey, CA, and served in Heidelberg, Germany as a Sergeant in military intelligence. After his military service, he began a 25+ year career in floor covering sales at GAF/Tarkett in Whitehall and finished as a Vice President of National Sales in Parsippany, NJ. Subsequent to Tarkett he spent several more years in flooring sales with Roppe Corp. Before retiring Paul also worked in sales for National Revenue Corporation. He spent many years involved with The Knights of Columbus and recently volunteered his time as a driver training instructor for AARP. Paul had a passion for tennis and earned many trophies from the Westend Racquet Club and the Sand Island Men's Tennis League in Bethlehem. He also took great pleasure in spending time with his family at the beach and listening to German polkas.

Survivors: Paul is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Jane; son Christopher, wife Jennifer, and two grandsons, Nolan and Braden of Alburtis, PA; son David of San Diego, CA. and sister Annette Sonsteby of Coopersburg. He also has many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services: Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday evening and Friday, from 9:45-10:15 a.m. in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad Street in Bethlehem. Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church or Lehigh Valley Hospice 2166 S. 12th Street, Allentown, PA 18103.
