Paul J. Tanzosh, 90 of Bethlehem, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Kirkland Village. He was the husband of Joan M. (Fedorak) Tanzosh who died June 16, 2008. Paul was born in Northampton on May 23, 1934 to the late Mathias and Lucy (Sagmeister) Tanzosh. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army and was proud to have his Hometown Hero Banner flying on his childhood street, Washington Avenue, Northampton, Pennsylvania.
He was a founding lifetime member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church and an active member of their St. Vincent de Paul Society, Serra Club, and Food Bank.
Paul worked for the former Globe-Times Newspaper in Bethlehem prior to joining the Morning Call Newspaper of Allentown. He retired in 1995 after 33 years with the Morning Call, as the Superintendent of production.
Paul was a man of many talents and interests, who dedicated himself to his family and serving others. Throughout his life, he made significant contributions to various organizations, including being a founding member of the Hanover Township Lions Club, volunteering at the Soup Kitchen in Allentown, and being active in the Lehigh County Meals on Wheels. Additionally, in his retirement, Paul found joy as a Starter at Whitetail Golf Course in Bath from 1996 to 2020.
Survivors: daughters: Mary (Nancy Stacer) Tanzosh of Sarasota, FL, Christine (Peter) Tiano of Hatboro; sister: Florence Jurasits of Northampton; grandchildren: Christopher P. (Elizabeth) Tiano, Peter J. Tiano; step granddaughter: Colleen (Tyler) Hernandez; step-great granddaughter: Collins Hernandez. Predeceased by his siblings: Joesph, Mathias, Mary Finelli and Loretta Roth.
Services: Friends and family are invited to his viewings 6-8pm Monday, August 26, 2024 and 9-10am Tuesday, August 27, 2024 both at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church, 1861 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem. The interment with Military Honors will conclude services at Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton. Online condolences may be offered at www.connellfuneral.com.
