Pauline E. Moser

July 27, 1925 — May 9, 2015

Pauline E. Moser (Harman), of Fountain Hill, beloved wife of Paul, mother and grandmother passed peacefully in her sleep on May 9th at age 89. Pauline was a treasure to her family and will be remembered as a loving mother who gave selflessly to others. She was an inspiration for us as she faced life with a positive outlook, quiet strength and inner beauty that radiated to everyone she met.

Pauline was born in Parnell, Missouri on July 27th 1926 to Charles and Elizabeth (Berg) Harman. Pauline attended Benedictine College in Atchison, KS graduating with a degree in education. She enjoyed dancing and singing and performed for the troops stationed at Leavenworth, KS during World War II. She began her teaching career in Kansas City, MO, where she met and married her husband in 1948. The couple moved to Fountain Hill in 1951 to live closer to Pauls family. She lived in Fountain Hill until 2014.

She touched the lives of many members of the Fountain Hill community as the Director of the Playground for 20 years and as an active member of St. Ursulas Church. Pauline taught in the Salisbury Township and Bethlehem Area school districts for over 30 years, semi-retiring to a part-time position with the Bethlehem Public Library, and fully retiring at 80 to spend more time with her husband and family. Upon retiring, she volunteered as a library aide in the Bethlehem Area School district, particularly Spring Garden Elementary School, as well as the Public Library. She received the Bethlehem Area Teachers Volunteer Award for her service. The borough of Fountain Hill honored Pauline by planting trees in her name at their Arbor Day celebration in 2011. She was also the guest of honor at the Fountain Hill playground fundraiser last month.
