Perry L. Schaffner, 55 of Bethlehem Township died Wednesday at Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem, PA.
He and his wife Joann Albany Hornak Schaffner celebrated their 27th anniversary May 18th.
Born in Bethlehem he is the son of Phyllis J. Reichard Schaffner of Bethlehem and the late Charles W. Schaffner, Sr.
Perry worked for Linde Gas of North America Inc. for the past 20 years.
He was a graduate of Liberty High School and he proudly served with the U.S. Army in the 1980's
Perry and Joann have been long time members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bethlehem Township.
Perry was very devoted to his wife and was a loving son, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He enjoyed being involved with the activities of his children and grandchildren and was constantly surrounded by his pets.
Surviving with his wife and mother are his son: Robert J. Hornak and his wife WendyAnn of Forks Township, his daughters: Lisa Hornak wife of Stephen Boligitz of Bushkill Twsp., Patty Hornak wife of Brian Hanchick of Bethlehem and Nicole Hornak wife of N. Michael Medei of Bethlehem.
He will be dearly missed by his eight Grandchildren: Amanda, Stephen, Andrea, Brittney, Bethany, Jessica, Sara and Grace along with his three Great Grandchildren Chloe, Kai and Logan.
He is also survived by his brothers Dwight and Charles W. II of Bethlehem and his sisters: Beverly Felker of Ft. Walton, FL, Linda of Tenn., Pamela Schaffner and Patricia Dashner both of Bethlehem.
Funeral Services will begin on Friday at 10:45 a.m. at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Road Bethlehem.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
