Peter G. Tsihlis

Peter G. Tsihlis, 76, of Bethlehem, PA died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, PA. Born in Greece, on Island of Chios, he was the son of the late George and Evangelia Xenakis Tsihlis. Peter was married to Angela DeMasi Tsihlis with whom he would have celebrated 53 years of marriage on June 25.

Peter proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. Peter was an executive chef in the Lehigh Valley. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Bethlehem. Peter was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Peter was the former president of the Lehigh Valley Culinary Association. Family was always the most important thing to Peter.

Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife Angela, children; Evangelia wife of Michael Affatato of Bethlehem, George Tsihlis of Bethlehem, Marcella wife of Paul Keyes of Nazareth, Louis M. Tsihlis and wife Holly of Bangor, sister Liberty Zannikos of Bethlehem and ten grandchildren; Peter, Michael, Nicholas, Alexandra, Paula, Kristen, Alexis, Callista, Ariana and Petros. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Peter was preceded in death by his three sisters; Argero Varoumas, Athena Kladias and Marcella Tsihlis-Kondeleon.

SERVICES

Visitation will be at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 from 9-11 AM followed by a funeral service at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church 1607 W. Union Blvd. Bethlehem, PA 18018 at 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Peter's name to the church or to the Chrohn's and Colitis Foundation of America 386 Park Ave. South New York, NY 10016
