Peter M. Chando

Peter M. "Shan" Chando, 59, of Catasauqua, Pa. died Saturday October 30, 2010 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was born on March 31, 1951 in Bethlehem, Pa. son of the late Stephen and Mary Bandurich Chando. He was the husband of Wendy Veitel Chando. They celebrated 38 years of marriage this past June.

Peter worked for Bethlehem Steel as a rigger for 31 years. He was currently a school bus driver for the Whitehall/Coplay School District. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving in the Vietnam War. Peter graduated from Liberty High School in 1969 and received his associates degree in electrical engineering from the Air Force. He was of the Byzantine catholic faith.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Wendy, daughter, Tanya wife of Robert Flecksteiner Jr. of Fountain Hill, Pa., son, Gregory S. Chando and fiance Kaitlin Bell of Huntsville, Alabama, brother, Stephen Chando Jr. and wife Rebecca , and sister, Susan A. McGee wife of James both of Bethlehem, grandchildren Tavia and Nathan Flecksteiner, nephews, Christopher and Benjamin, and nieces, Alexandra, Danielle, Amanda, and Sara.

A viewing to celebrate Peter's life will be held from 6-8PM Tuesday November 2, 2010 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. Services will be private held at the convenience of the family.
