Peter Paul Kozul, 87, of Bethlehem, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at St Lukes Hospice House. He was the loving husband of Betty (Hittinger) Kozul with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Stephen and Anna (Szecsko) Kozul.
Peter served in the US Navy as a Photographer from 1954-1956. From childhood to adulthood, he tended to flower and vegetable gardens, and was a master at it. Peter loved to cook and his Hungarian Goulash and Polichinka was the best around. Besides cooking and grilling, he prided himself in his carpentry work in the Lehigh Valley and was a perfectionist at it, typically working 7 days a week. To relax, he was a big lover of Polka and you could be assured that polka music would be blaring in the home during his down time. He and his wife were regulars at the very inception of Musikfest and he loved to dance. Peter loved his family and often enjoyed Sunday drives; and in the winter, hed form sled trains and find the steepest hill to take his girls and anyone else in the neighborhood to fly down the hills at warp speed. Peter will be remembered by his family as a great dad and grandfather, but also for creating scenarios that would scare them into laughter. Above all, Peter will be missed for his love, kindness and generosity to not only his family, but all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by his daughters: Nan Kozul and her wife, Barb Baus of Allentown; Michele Isidoro and her husband, Arlindo of Nararath; and Karen Figueroa and her husband, Chubby of Bethlehem Township; grandchildren: Ashley and Nathan Figueroa; and Krista and AJ Isidoro; great grandchild: Timothy.
Peter was preceded in death by his brothers: Stephen and Nicholas; and his sisters: Mary, Anna, Martha, and Margaret; and his beloved golden retriever, Buddy.
