Peter The Cap Keretz, Sr.

Peter "The Cap" Keretz, Sr., 95, of Bethlehem Township, PA died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown.

Born June 19, 1913 in Fountain Hill, PA he was the son of the late Michael and Christina Keretz. He was married to Anna Dominick Keretz with who he celebrated 68 yrs. of marriage before she passed in 2006.

Peter worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Company in the beam yard retiring in 1974. He was a member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Bethlehem and was also a member of the USWA Local #2599. He was an avid bowler, baseball and softball sportsman. At the age of 79 Peter bowled a 300 game.

Peter will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Pauline wife of Joseph Senick of Bethlehem Township, Nancy Stein Bindo of Bethlehem and Patricia Brandstetter of Bethlehem Township. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Peter Keretz, Jr., brothers, Stephen, Alex and Louis Keretz and sisters, Irene Keretz, Theresa Burgermeister and Christina Stenger.


SERVICES

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 7-9 PM with a Panachida Service at 7:30 PM. A calling period will be on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 in the funeral home from 9-10 AM followed by a Burial Service at 10 AM. Internment will be at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
