Peter Wengryn

Peter Wengryn, 90, of East Allen Twp., died on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Alden, PA, the son of the late Stephen and Anna Wengryn and the last of 11 children. He is the devoted husband of Helen (Waypa) Wengryn. They were married 64 years.

Peter worked for Western Electric as a Tool and Dye Inspector and machinist. He retired in 1978 after 35 years of service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII with the 717th Tank Battalion of the 79th Infantry Division.

Peter was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, American Legion Hellertown Ackerman Post and a parishioner and volunteer of St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Byzantine Rite of Bethlehem. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, working in the garden, and; was a wonderful handyman.

Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Helen; son, Stephen and his wife, Kathleen, of Orefield; his daughter, Irene, wife of Alan Bosch, of Bethlehem; and his four grandchildren, David, Mark, Jamie and Randi.

Services: A Prayer Service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, followed by an Office of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1826 Kenmore Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Visitation will be Sunday, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home with a Panachida Service at 7 p.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the church.
