Philip A. George, Sr, 76, of Bethlehem Township passed away on December 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 27, 1948, he was the son of the late George and Elsie (Hand) George. He was the loving husband of Gail A. (Rosati) George.
A 1966 graduate of Dieruff High School, Phil received his bachelor's degree in music education from Temple University. From there, he went on to educate thousands of students during his 32 years as a music teacher and band director, mainly at Nazareth High School. He was a talented trumpet player who loved teaching, both in school and privately. You could often find him cheering on the NY Yankees and Temple Basketball. He loved listening to music, whether it was 60s and 70s rock, or the sound of Maynard Ferguson. His tremendous sense of humor will be missed by those who dearly loved him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Gail, sons Philip Jr. and Ryan and wife Jessica; daughter, Laura and his 2 grandchildren, Justyn and Kaylyn. And lastly, his furry companion, Molly.
He was a hard working and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A viewing will also be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 10 -11 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
