Philomena O. Ackerman

Philomena O. Ackerman, 98, of Bethlehem, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017. Born in Bethlehem on September 8, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Angeline (Ronca) Oricko. She was the wife of the late Francis J. Ackerman.

Philomena was a graduate of Bethlehem Business College and worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses. She sang in the Bach Choir of Bethlehem for over 50 years and was a member of the Notre Dame Church of Bethlehem and the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Francis Jr. and wife Gina of Newport Coast, CA and Patrick of Manhattan, NY; sister, Rose Mary Kennedy; and step-grandson, Andrew Dinh and wife Annie. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael Oricko.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 2, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem. An 11 a.m. funeral service will follow, in the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
