Phyllis J. D'Argenio

Phyllis J. DArgenio (ne Bertolet) died July 31, 2018 at the Fairway-Shawnee timeshare resort in Shawnee-on-the-Delaware, PA, while visiting her beloved Pocono Mountains. Born in 1932, she grew up in Bethlehem, PA. She graduated from Liberty High School, where she participated in sports and excelled academically, in 1950. She attended Cedar Crest College, receiving degrees in biology and education in 1954. She taught high school biology in the Bethlehem School District her entire working life.

Surviving are her daughters, Patti J. Saunders (and husband Marshall V. Clymer) of Anchorage, AK and Pamela J. Saunders (and husband Daniel J. Saul) of Absecon, NJ; brother Robert Bertolet (and wife Yvonne) of Ridgeland, MS; nephews Barry Bertolet (and wife Paula) of Tupelo, MS and Todd Bertolet (and wife Rhonda) also of Ridgeland, MS, as well as numerous cousins and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Grace M. and Francis (“Frank”) X. Degnan, Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Anthony; her son, Richard E. Saunders, Jr.; and her niece Toni Jill Bertolet Henthorn.

A service celebrating her life will occur at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018, in the chapel at Bethlehem Memorial Park, 1851 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA. Interment will also be at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
