Pio Leon

Pio Leon, 93, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.

Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Benito and Eugenia Lopez Leon.

While in Puerto Rico, Mr. Leon worked in the sugar cane fields and then became a shoemaker.

He was a member of First Spanish Baptist Church in Bethlehem.

Pio will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Jose Luis Leon and Jose Alberto Leon both of Bethlehem; his daughter Olga I. Leon of Puerto Rico; 25 grandchildren 36 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Carmen B. Leon; his son Alberto Hernandez and seven siblings.

Funeral arrangements have been made with the guidance of Connell Funeral Home, Inc., Bethlehem

A Visitation will be at First Spanish Baptist Church 122 W. 4th St. Bethlehem, on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 9:30-10 AM with a service to follow immediately in the church at 10 AM.

Burial will be at Nisky Hill Cemetery.
