Randy L. Moyer

Randy Moyer, of Freemansburg, died on Friday, July 21, 2017, one day after his 65th birthday. He was born July 20, 1952 in Mertztown, PA; son of the late Elmer and Mae (Miller) Moyer. Randy and his beloved wife, Janette M. (Schlegel) Moyer just celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary last Thursday, July 13th.

From a young age Randy enjoyed cars. He had a passion for the intricacies of working on cars and trucks and that led to his career as owner and operator of Randys Auto Repair in Freemansburg. He also generous, strong and helpful, which served him well as a firefighter; first with Topton Fire Co. and later while joining the Freemansburg Fire Co. and serving as Fire Chief for 10 years. Randy found peace in going on vacation with his wife and loved taking her to concerts. Randy had a unique personality and always made a lasting impression as was displayed when he entered the ZZ Top fan contest and won tickets to the concert by shaving the bands name into his beard. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Randy will be remembered as a big man with a big heart.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Janette; two daughters, Jenipher Roba and Bobbi Jo Brugger and her husband, Tom; grandchildren, Jakob, Hannah, Sarah, and Michael and his siblings, Sandy and Donald Brientzenhoff; Marilyn and Ray Shadler; Bonnie Jacoby; Gerry and Colleen Moyer; Carol and Stanley Smith; and Lee Moyer; brothers-in-law Stephen Schlegel and Dale Schlegel; sisters-in-law, Sue Gruver and Deana Benner and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Timmy, David, Tommy, and Larry.

A visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 and again on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a service to immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Friedensville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 2020 Worthington Ave, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
