Raymond C. Holz, 86, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday, August 6, 2011 surrounded by his family at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's.
He was born May 13, 1925 in Allentown; the son of the late William Holz and Genevieve Holz Meyers.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Dorothy Holz.
He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Raymond retired as a Narrow Gauge Engineer from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. after 43 years of service.
He was a member of Church of the Manger, Bethlehem.
Raymond will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dorothy; step daughters, Deborah Kulp and her husband Harry; Michelle Wagner; Valerie Belle and her husband Bill and his sister Mary Ann Hurley as well as his step daughter-in-law Nancy Souilliard. Raymond will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Karen, Audrey, Stephen, Ryan, Desiree, Melissa, Daniel, Rachel, Megan, Medric Julie and Randy.
He was preceded in death by his step son, Robert Souilliard and his brothers, Richard, Robert and William.
Raymond took pride in knitting afghans for the entire family. He enjoyed golfing, was an avid sports fan and traveled extensively. He especially loved spending time with his family on vacation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
A Memorial Service will be held 10 AM on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Church of the Manger 1401 Greenview Dr. Bethlehem, PA 18018. The family will receive friends from 9am until the time of the service in the church.
